Banana Flower

The banana flower is a purple tear-shaped bloom seen at the end of a banana fruit cluster. After removing the inedible dark outer petals (called bracts), the inner reveals yellowish tightly-packed petals that resemble artichokes. The edible section of the flower clusters is fried to resemble shredded fish texture. The banana flower is high in fiber, antioxidants, and a variety of minerals. According to new studies, it may help with digestive health, prostate enlargement prevention, bone health support, and blood sugar and cholesterol control.
