According to history, Cloves were first traded by Arabs for centuries until the Portuguese took it over in the renaissance period. However, as the time progressed through the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries, the clove trade went to the hands of the Dutch, French, and British since they executed massive cultivation in their colonies.
