Pennywort

Pennywort is also known as ‘gotu kola’ in Sri Lanka, which is believed to have originated in South America. Pennywort leaves are rounded, and moderately green in appearance. Although it’s an edible leaf, pennywort is being used as an herb as well in traditional Sri Lankan medicine to treat many diseases such as diarrhea, fever, hepatitis etc.

From a nutrition standpoint, pennyworth can be distinguished as a leaf that is rich in nutrients and healing properties. It contains a handsome amount of calcium, iron, potassium, Vitamin A, B2, and C, which allow it to bring a list of health benefits that include improving blood circulation, enhancing the immune system etc.
